Way to keep that Pride alive. I know it's an awesome
feeling all of you are experiencing right now...and
trust me you will remember this day for the rest of
your lives. I still watch my State Champ video from
time to time, and still get the goose bumps. It will
ALWAYS give you bragging rights!! To all the students,

of the pirate band from 1993 to 1997, my parents, and
I saw you guys at the parents performance at Hanby.

Comment:By the time most of you read
this that are not in the pirate band, Poteet High School
placed #1 at state. It is now official that the Poteet
High School Band is legendary in status. You now have
a director that is going to go down in history as a
legend. I have had the privelege of being called an
original Poteet Pirate and I have had the privelege
of teaching privately under Mr. Coulson. Congrats on
a job well done. I will always continue to model my
band programs after what you have there. Only one last
thing remains and that is for the honors band or wind
ensemble to win state honor band and perform in San
Antonio. See you in 2006-2007. Way to go band.

Comment:OMG...Its 10:11pm on Nov 8, 2005 and
the Poteet Pirate Band has just won the Texas State Marching
Competition...Im utterly speachless...but I'll try to get the
words out anyway...
To the directors: Yall have had this comming for such a long
time. Yall poor your hearts and lives into this amazing group
of people and its about time this happened again!!! I love yall
sooooooo much!!!
To my little freshmen (that are now seniors ;D): Im so incredibly proud of yall...I cant even find the words to begin...you are my legacy and you have done the Pirate Band proud...you truely are a Mean, Green, Marching Machine and have given a true Performance of Pride...never forget: Eyes With Pride!!!! i am at school right now while ya'll r heading 2 state. i wish i

Comment:As i have just looked on the UIL website
to see when the ever dominant Pirate Band would perform, you are
now on your way to the buses to change and spend the rest of the
day trying to relax. From having the experience of performing early
in the pre-lims i know this will be gut wrenching. hang in there.
if you performed like i know Coulson expects, you will be playing
you're hearts out tomorrow evening. Congrats to all the achievements
you've had this year! Mr. Coulson...Congrats on your induction!
From spending my 4 years under your direction, and spending the
5 years you directed Andrea & Andy watching, nothing else is
expected. As early as 7th grade at Vanston i couldn't wait to get
on the field as a Pirate and perform the best shows the State will
ever see. From Havendance to Waterworld, my high school marching
experience was one of the best anyone could have in their life.
Mr. Davis...congrats to you as well for leading your corps once
again. It gets on my nerves sometimes whenever Andrea tries to remember
one of her routines, but it just shows the mark you made on her
as well. So again CONGRATS, and let the state know why the Poteet
Pirate Band is the best, EVER

going to the state competition. I know it's nothing new for the Poteet
