It would have been very easy to just say the show was too hard or the music was too hard and given up but you didn't. Comment:WOW!!! Another State Marching Championship. Congratulations Pirate Band on another spectacular marching season. You guys were phenomenal on Tuesday in the prelims and finals. Even after 12 years of watching the "Performance of Pride," I am still amazed at the consistentcy and dedication of the Pirate Band. From warmups to performance you had the poise and confidence of a State Champion. Other bands stopped and watched as you passed knowing who you were and who they had to beat. Passing through the halls of the Alamodome, other band members would call out to Pirate Band members telling you that you "Rock." Your dedication to detail and relentless execution of fundamentals set you apart from every other band program in the state. Be proud of your win, you deserve it. The Poteet Pirate Band's long list of accomplishments are well known around the state. You guys are amazing. Congratulations to Mr. Coulson, Mr. Davis, Mr. Kath, and Mr. Newman for the superb job of teaching, coaching, and mentoring these fine musicians. Your time, effort, and influence will positively impact the lives of individual members of the band for years to come. Comment: My 4 years in the Poteet Pirate Marching Band was what made high school so fun for me and I will never forget the memories. I played clarinet at the State Marching Contest in 1997. We walked away with gold hanging from our necks knowing we all worked hard to trample out the Coppell High School Marching Band into 3rd place. Go Pirate Band!
